Guys, I received this from an old buddy named Stan Shank. He and group of guys are trying to enhance the National grounds and save us some money by making a new parking lot. It will also double as a landing zone. I will bring this up at the next meeting. John
TO SFA members FYI
In the recent past the folks who own the property just out side of the entrance gate to the grounds informed us they wanted to charge us for parking on their property. I think it was $1200.00/year. This was unacceptable. To rectify this problem, Billy Akers/Aubrey Gaddis and I have cleared the area to the east of the entrance and have begun the process of getting fill dirt to level the area. So far SFA members have donated 31 loads of fill dirt. We need 30-40 more loads of dirt ($110.00/load) to finish phase one of this project. Once completed we will begin work on removing stumps and leveling the area south of the National office BLDG. Once phase two is completed we will have parking for 300-400 vehicles and our grounds will be greatly improved from a beautification standpoint.Another benifit will be a greatly enlarged area for jumpers to use.
I would like to ask for your consideration of donations to support this project. If you so desire, please send donations to SFA MBF and mark in the memo section of your check SFA Parking Lot project. Billy/Aubrey and I will provide the slave labor to get dirt spread. Thanks for your consideration
