El Indio Tienda

I was sadto hear the Carlos and Seda will be leaving El Indio at the end of February. Their rent was raised and in these hard economic times with the US economy bad and the peso devalued, they just don't think they can continue.

We've all enjoyed the improved inventory at the store over the past 2 years since Seda took over. The doors are open early, early and never closes until after 10:00 What a hard worker (and always so pleasant). I don't know if Leo is taking it over or if he will find another couple to lease it.

Just wanted to give a heads up.

Barbara: Anything any of us can do to help? I hate to see them leave. They've done a great job of upscaling this store and having many of the items we need. Skip

I talked to them and they said they'd love to stay but can't afford the increase in rent. Maybe we can have someone talk to Leo and expain Economics 101?

Plus, there is a new law that tiendas can't sell achohol after 10:00 so you've probably noticed they (and others are closing early). I'll miss them too -- we only have to ask and she starts stocking things.

Actually I sas Leo today and we chatted in Costco's parking lot. He said he wanted to raise the rent and since Seda can't afford it they are going to work something out. Leo is a nice man and he knows that his store is doing well under Seda's eye -- it looks like there will be a reprieve.

that is really good news. she has been great everytime i have dealt with her. the evolution of the store over the last few years has been wonderful. besides all that, seda is just a nice person and that alone is reason enough to do business at el indio. revbob
