Is there a good place to get fresh fruits and vegetables in San Pancho?

How about a Farmers Market?

Chris, take a daytrip and go to the Tianguis (open-air market) in La Penita on Thursday mornings. It's something you shouldn't miss, plus you'll find an abundance of fresh fruits and veggies... and you won't get heck for asking where to find it.

Is this your first time in Mexico?

Mexico is the "land of fresh fruits and vegetbles". If you cannot find "produce" in any town you might visit in Mexico, then you are not in Mexico.

Now now, there's no need to be thin skinned, especially IF this is your first time in Mexico. I noticed that you do not answer questions, merely ask them.

And, BTW, San Pancho is not MY "little corner of the world", it belongs to the local community that has welcomed, beyond its capacity, many foreigners while maintaining their exclusive right of ownership, something that zings over the heads of many.

So if you are looking for generic answers to generic questions without a threat to your personal aura, there are hundreds of boards, blogs, investor guides, and "friendly forums" run by gringos all over Mexico that would be willing to give you what you ask for. (watch your wallet).

So bienvenidos a Mexico and may the Gods of fruits and vegetables reign over your stay.

Lots of places. Most of the tiendas have fresh fruit delivered from local farms daily. Plus there is a very good fruit and vegetable stand just a few meters from the entrance to town.

Barbara, thanks for your reply. It was very helpful. When we travel, we like to keep the $$ in the towns that we are staying in, rather than the Hypermercados.
