I echo Judith's words and would like to add a big thank you to Bob and Gloria Farmer and Frank and Bonnie Dunbar for putting the vets up in great style. Thank you also to Ray and Joan LeFleur and Mary Hillabrand and Michael Martin who generously stood by with extra rooms should we need them. Sadly, the vets worked without assistants this time, but we still managed to bring in lots of cats and dogs. Your generousity in donations, housing, meals, volunteering and transportation is what is keeping this program going. It is not a twice a year function anymore. We collect funds throughout the year to aid sick and hurt animals and families with pets who cannot afford proper care. We vacinated animals each month this summer against erlichia and will continue to do what we can to keep the animal population reduced to the number of animals that can be assured good homes. Also, a big thank you to the members of the Gente Grande who so generously allowed us to use their facility again this year. This means we can ensure a stable and healthy environment for the pets during and after surgery. If you would be so kind as to gather up any old towels or sheets throughout the year we will gladly pick them up. We use these to comfort the animals during recovery and there is never enough. I feel as if this is Academy Awards night . . . and I forgot to thank those friends who donated housing, too, and a place to hold the clinic, the Tercer Edad group of San Pancho.
