Below is a message from 'Turtle' Frank. If you have any household items, old luggage, decorative items, jewelry, books, dvd's, etc (you know -- the stuff we all look for at yard sales)that you are sick of looking at -- this is an opportunity to clear out some space and help Frank and his volunteers save more turtles. The message below tells you how to get the "stuff" to him. I'm heading out to the bodega tomorrow to see what I can live without.
MESSAGE FROM FRANK SMITH FOLLOWS
Hola ~
As you can imagine nonprofit organization are experiencing an ever increasing problem raising the necessary funds to carry out their objectives, and our marine turtle program is no exception. We relay solely on the public for financial support. Although in our case, as an alternative to pleading for donations outright we generate revenue the old-fashion way by offing instead goods and services, such as our high quality T-shirts and the Home Directories.
In keeping with this spirit, we have come up with another fund-raising idea, an annual yard sale. I don’t know about you, but I enjoy rummaging through a good yard sale, even if I buy things I don’t need, its great fun! However, to conduct a successful yard sale we must again relay on you for yard sale items, those items that are no longer wanted, that’s taking up room on the selves of your closet or storage area/s, consider donating them to our annual yard sale. We will pick up your items if you call us at 258-4100 or reply to this email message
You can drop off your donated items at the nursery on Calle America Latina anytime or day before the sale. Also please attend the sale on January 3rd, 4th and 5th between 8AM and 8PM.
