I'm not quite sure that the ORIGINAL founders of these projects are aware that you have prostituted their their moral intentions to peddle your propaganda.
Bend & Stretch, Dig & Grow
Many of us have practiced our Asanas
(body positions) in an outdoor garden but
have you ever done authentic Yoga
gardening? Some of the many highlights
of the weeklong Yoga retreat were the
village of San Pancho, the warm and calm
sea, the sky and tropical forest, the people
from all nations and walks of life who
inspired and taught us, and the altruistic
social service of helping to plant a garden
for the Elderly Community Center
organized by our host, Emerald Coast
Foundation.

However, the formal presentation by Emerald Coast Foundation
founders, Faurest Montenegro & Erik James Logerquist so amazed
us with their community-first model and their before and after
photographs of the various community improvements in schools,
parks and boardwalk,

Recycling Project Big Hit with Kids
A major local initiative is a recycling center in San Pancho. As
a visual indicator how beneficial recycling can be,
Entreamigos, Emerald Coast Foundation andmany local and
regional organizations have constructed a children's
playground using all recycled materials (non-hazardous
materials, of course). This wonderful playground is actually
more innovative than many may realize. The designer’s plan
includes harnessing the energy of any of the playground
structures that move, such as the swings.
This energy will then be used to pump water through the
fountains. Truly, it's a great example of interactive art and
without interaction, no recycling program can be successful. This playground is a great way to give local
residents and their children a tangible daily reminder of the benefits of recycling. Congratulations to San
Pancho and here's hoping that many municipalities will follow suit.

The Festival in San Pancho included a parade on Saturday night from the malecon to the Bodega
where an altar (altar de muertos comunitario) was erected to hold the offerings for the dead.

Birding Club Celebrates 1st Year
In October, 2008, the San Pancho Birding Club (SPBC) celebrated the conclusion of a very successful inaugural year. To
mark the event, the club's founder, Luis Morales, wrote the following recap of the year's activities. He also gratefully
acknowledges the generous support of the club's sponsors.
