Dear Riikka,
If you really want to start your thesis at the beginning, get a hold of Don Miguel Becerra (his phone number is in Frank's Grupo Eco Directory) because he has photos of the village even BEFORE Don Miguel started building Costa Azul and President Eschevirria started building the village. I recall seeing his album, and it is interesting. There was lots and lots of barren land with a few dirt roads crosscrossing the area that the few first families used to access the jungle and the beach. Some of the early palapas were in the photos, and the trees in some areas went all the way down to the water's edge. It's a great album. I'm sure he would let you copy some of the photos . . . and with the new technology available in Vallarta, you can probably get good reprints at a good price. If you won't be here to do the copying yourself, he would have to turn the album over to someone reliable or copy the photos for you. I'm sure they are prescious to him and would have to be handled with tremendous care and respect. Good luck!
