I would like to know the identity of "Yo" since that has been my recognized nom de plum since arriving in San Pancho almost two years ago. I feel like I can no longer use it due to this usurpation. Can you disclose the identity so I can go back to "Bobby Yo"?
As for the shoot out in La Cruz de H, that is old news and splashed while John and Trish were stateside. It involved several deaths on both sides of the war on drugs and made headlines here.
I suspect the powers that be want to quell any disturbances caused by the drug trade in Vallarta and surrounding gold mine cities, like the self dedicated "Jewel of Nayarit" as the governor proclaimed to us in san pancho.
Still, all kinds of drugs are available on the street here, in Salyulita, in La Cruz, Vallarta, and every other town I have visited. I remember my first experience at the market in La Penita and wandering down to the beach, only to see beach bum type dealing out of his backpack to the passers by. Reminded me of Santa Cruz California, circa 1970.
Thus the need for eternal vigilance. But who was this gringo to report to? Cant trust the cops, cant trust the army, and cant go one on one with a much younger adversary, at least not in these senior years.
