I originally came to San Pancho in 2003 to do some voluntary work in Grupo Ecológico de la Costa Verde. I also wanted to learn more Spanish as I was a student of Hispanic Studies at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.
During my stay in San Pancho I also taught English at the local primary school. I loved living in the pueblo and that´s why I ended up staying there for more than 2 years instead of 3 months, as I had originally planned 
Right now I live in Finland and I study Sociology at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi.
I have some family in San Pancho as my boyfriend is from the village. The grandparents, greatgrandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins of our two children (right now we have just one but the new baby will be born anytime soon!)live in San Pancho.
My research topic is about the social change that is going on in San Pancho. I have noticed that the small, beautiful little pueblo is going through some major changes now as the new investors are taking over. All these changes affect the original community. With my research, my aim is to find out what those changes are and how do the locals feel about them.

Llege a San Pancho en el 2003 para hacer trabajo voluntario en Grupo Ecológico de la Costa Verde y para aprender más castellano. Yo, entonces, estuve estudiando los estudios hispanos en la Universidad de Aberdeen en Escocia y por mi carrera tuve que aprender más español.
Durante mi estancia en San Pancho hize otros trabajos tambien; por ejemplo dí clases de inglés en la primaria. Me encantaba la vida en el pueblo y por eso me quede ahí por más de 2 años.
Ahorita vivo en mi país de orígen, en Finlandia. Estudio sociología en la Universidad de Laponia en Rovaniemi. Cada año vuelvo a San Pancho de vacaciones porque la familia de mi novio vive ahí. Tenemos una niña de 2 años y muy pronto va a nacer otro!
Mi Tesis se trata del cambio social en San Pancho. He dado cuenta que el pueblo está cambiando muy rápido, por los invensores extrañjeros que últimamente han llegado.
En mi Tesis quiero investigar, cuáles son los cambios que estan pasando en San Pancho y como se siente la gente del pueblo sobre ellos.
Bueno, espero que nadie tenga nada contra de mi investigación academico!
