"piranha or piraña (pronounced /pɨˈrɑːnjə/, /pɨˈrænjə/, /pɨˈrɑːnə/, or /pɨˈrænə/) is a member of a family of omnivorous[1] freshwater fish which live in South American rivers. In Venezuelan rivers they are called caribes. They are known for their sharp teeth and an aggressive appetite for meat"
Kudos to Wikipedia
Jez Ron, where have you been? Terco Mundo has bee renamed Rio de Piranha.
It is just another alternative that has been injected into San Pancho along with what many foregheneers have layered into our fair city. Ya start out at Hwy 200 and the feeding just begins with "Emerald Cost A Lot" and ending up with the cultural fiasco that you speak of embedded in what used to be our beautiful malecon. WTF Ron, where have you been? Really, Ron, are you just waking up to the fact that everyone that has spent a couple of hours in San Pancho has figured out how to make money here and reinvented themselves. Even those scum bags over in Pulvalita have created a web site about San Pancho and our scum bag developers, consultants, builders, condoeers, real estate, properties, investers builders and any other catch word that means "STEP OVER HERE YA IDIOT AND OPEN UP YOUR POCKETBOOK" And ya know Ron, the idiots do. They are real smart because they have sold (or most likely mortgaged) their $40,000 house for a mere MIL and now they are smarter than GOD.
And the feeding frenzy just begins.
Ya know, Linda calls this board bizarre (or whatever), but has she really walked Rio de Piranha like you and I? Has she been glad handed by those pearly whites of a reinvented Gringo? Has she been offered drugs by a cook? Has she purchached a pet rock? Has she felt the spiritual wave of yogi? Has she purched her artwork drawn over photos? Has she really experienced our "quiet little fishing village.?" Has she invested in her future with someone that's only been here for a year? Has she searched high a low for quality medical/dental care? Has she helped launder drug money? Has she enjoyed the baked goods of Europe? Has she encouraged her garden to grow under the guidance of a professional landscaper? Has she joined the HOA's? Has she enrolled her kids in alternative schooling? Has she had her face lifted? Has she sorted her garbage? Has she neutered her pets? Has she built a little bungalow out back, just for her friends? Has she signed-in onto the "friendly discussion board"? Is her jewelry "hecho en Mexico" by a pothead? Has she helped our "little brown brothers" with her tax-exempt donations? Really, has she caught the ride of her life? No kidding, Ron, and she calls this board bizarre?
And, why would anyone be a "visitor" in San Pancho when there's nothing to do here but pretend they're in 'merica? There's no reason. "The Visitor" would never meet me cause they would be scalped clean before getting to my house here on Calle Hardesty after being picked clean by the feeding frenzy on Rio de Piranha!

: A friend was just in San Pancho and went into
: the "Discovery Center" by the
: playa and brought me back a brochure. Why
: don't these guys cop to the fact that it's a
: sales office and their "cultural
: center" is a guise for a major
: development waaaaay to big for San Pancho.
: Does anyone have any idea if people are
: buying these places? It seems like, as in
: most speculation, it takes people plunking
: down some money before they can really start
: their construction. Any odds on this thing
: actually being built in the next couple of
: years? I hope not.
: What's the concensus in town?
