I've found that it is extremely accurate for my running routes that I've measured out in my car etc. http://www.sueandpaul.com/gmapPedometer/ Click on the "I'm not from Hoboken Link" then zoom into where ever you do your runs. Just a little more instruction that I copied off another site. BTW, I think this site is great. You can also print off your route.
