Hi, just like to run a few things by:
First, pay your volunteers. That makes them accountable. It seems that in previous years results were posted on this site, whereas now we rely on Facebook for them. Of course finding them on facebook is impossible. Remember that we pay 25 bucks for this service. When a friend asked a volunteer about the results for the Wolfville/Bridgewater/Liverpool race (I'm not sure), the response was "we don't have them, do you? Just post the damm results.
Second, don't tell us that first time RNS members get a free T-shirt, coupons etc...and not send them. And respond to our emails when we ask why.
Third, a little bit of recognition for placing in races: ie. Sheila Poole. Medals were given to those who ran their first 10k and no sort of token to those top 3 men and women who spent the winter throwing up at the side of the road for their efforts. If the 75 first timer medals are your limit then give us winners an 8 1/2 x 11 paper certificate with our hard won accomplishment on it. That should suit your obviously cheap budget.
Lunenburg? Christ. By the time they got to the winners everyone was gone.
All in all, races in Nova Scotia, with the exception of Caledonia, Bridgewater and a few others seem to be designed to scare away elite runners and leave average runners like me to win and place. -Jonathan Menzies
