Rio De Janeiro Marathon- June 27th, 2010
Come Celebrate in the City of Carnaval, Copacabana Beach, Samba, Ipanema and Corcovado Mountain! Rio de Janeiro, also known as the 'Marvelous City', is a place where people live life to the fullest. It is most famous for its annual Carnival celebration, but Rio is just as lively in the off-season, thriving year-round on sun, samba, sport, and shopping.
Rio's landscape is second to none with resplendent beaches on one side and a formidable mountain range, covered by lush forest, on the other, ideal for rock-climbing or surfing, depending on your inclination! One of Rio's most famous icons, the Art-Deco statue of Christ the Redeemer sits on Corcovado Mountain providing a splendid panoramic view of the city to over 300,000 visitors per year.
Reykjavik Marathon- August 21st, 2010
The world's most northern capital city, Reykjavik is clean, crisp and refreshingly distinct. Most of Iceland’s popularity is due to its natural features that include glaciers, hot springs, geysers, active volcanoes, fjords and vast lava deserts.
It also boasts the nearby Blue Lagoon - Iceland's most famous bathing experience. Reykjavik Cultural Night, which coincides with the marathon, attracts nearly half the Icelandic population to downtown Reykjavik. Complete your marathon and then celebrate all night in the streets of Reykjavik!
