Janet, I would stop and walk. Yes it interupts your long run but dogs will give chase if you "take off". If they are on your route regularly then find another route if possible. If not then try to find their owner and politely tell them of your concern. I hope they are understanding and will try to keep them on their property better. It is for their own benefit too. A car coming along a rural road could leave them with one less dog.
