Capt John Musgrave King (124620) Royal Regiment of Artillery
My name is Neill Broughton and I was born on 1 December 1949 to John Musgrave King and Elizabeth Nora Ellen King (nee Coles). John King is or was my father whom I have never met. My mother and father divorced when I was very young and my mother remarried to become Elizabeth Broughton. Both my mother and my stepfather have now died and I have started researching my real father.
I was somewhat shocked to see an entry in the London Gazette of Friday 10 October 1952 whereby John Musgrave King's Military OBE was cancelled and annulled with his name being erased from the Register in consequence of his having been cashiered following a general court martial.
I am obviously keen to research the matter further and find out more about his military career and obviously his court martial. Can anyone advise me the best way to proceed.
