My Dad (L/Bdr R A J Collins) served in the RA in Orkney and in Palestine, 1940-48. In Orkney he was based at Rerwick Head, at the nearest farm to which my Mum lived so that it wasn't too difficult for them to meet! I know he was in 233 Coast Battery because I have a photo of 81 fine fellows posing in six rows, possibly in Kirkwall, but maybe in Woolwich. I have ben able to find no reference on the web to this unit. Would a scanned copy of this photo be useful to you and do you have any information about the unit?
