we are tracing our family tree and have come across some information that conflicts my fathers memory (!) and hope that perhaps someone can assist with further information.
My great-grandfather served as a gunner in the royal horse artillery and was killed in action on 15.08.1917 in Flanders, France.
My father recalls that he saw a letter from the commanding officer that says he was in the 303 yeomanry but my research has shown that this is a territorial division whereas the royal horse artillery was a regular army unit.
Perhaps someone could enlighten me and I thank you in advance for your co-operation.
