Does anyone here have a source for the Rommel quote about how he selected officers? Something along the lines of - "Men are basically smart or dumb and lazy or ambitious. The dumb and ambitious ones are dangerous and I get rid of them. The dumb and lazy ones I give mundane duties. The smart ambitious ones I put on my staff. The smart and lazy ones I make my commanders." I have looked around the internet and have come up only with "attributed to" with no firm source. Can anybody help? Don't care if it's in English or in German (although I suppose German would be better). Thanks, appreciate it.
