rommel met her in weingarten and he fall in love with walburga. but during the time on the war academy in danzig he met his future wife lucie mollin. 1913 erwin´s and walburga´s illegetimate child gertrud was born!! rommel wanted to marry walburga, but his strict family convinced him that he should leave walburga and wed lucie!!
in 1916 (during the first world war) he married lucie mollin in danzig!! walburga thougt, that rommel would come back to her. but after erwin´s and lucie´s son was born (in 1928, his name was manfred), she commited suicid. she didn´t recover from her rejection!!!
erwin rommel never neglected his daughter gertrud, he exchanges of dozen of letters with her.
