This has been asked half a dozen times on this board, but no one has been able to come up with any substantial proof of a visit by Rommel. No biographies that I have read mention such a visit, and one person's swearing that Rommel's signature was in a southern museum, never came to any kind of substantial proof (he couldn't even think of the state, much less the town name). I simply don't know. Because I've not been able to find a substantialized claim anywhere, I would tend to say 'no, Rommel did not make a trip to the United States.' He could have just as easily studied the American Civil War from Germany.
