Breaking up Iraq would be a solid, good idea for three strong, independent nations (or at least two strong, and one moderate). However, if the United States, or even a United States led UN force, broke up Iraq, the Arab world would almost instantaneously decry the United States as an evil power bent on breaking up Arab unity and weakening its power. Am I wrong? If the Arab nations believed such a decision would have benefited them, don't you think that they would have strongly suggested it to Saddam, and Iraqi leaders before him? Am I missing a precedence here?
