Some of them will want to break up, some will want to keep together. That will have to be sorted out over there by them. Ideally, getting rid of the last vestiges of colonialism would resemble what's going on with the EU; an "irreleventization" of national borders, not a mere redrawing of those borders along tribal lines. But this cannot happen until after a long period of true parlimentary government in those countries. If I had to guess, the U.N. probably will have to step in and police a breakup as in East Timor, or more to the point, the way NATO did in the former Yugoslavia.
