A new addition to the night was a mixing desk run by Jay. A few
technical difficulties during Delta Elemental aka Steve & Helens
preformance, but otherwise a crisp balanced great sound. Nick later
put it to a vote with mixed reviews. Fate unknown...Nick warmed up the crowd and of course did the favorite Swiss Roll,
but seemed to be limited audiance participation. Come on peeps, let
us hear you! During one song there was a bit of a howel, I think
Nick has Werewolves of London stuck in his head.
Special Guest Chris Pitt aka anyone seen my hair, now a soloist
playing a wide range of accoustic music such as Blues, Elvis,
Beatles and his own music. A great vocalist and great player made
for a wonderful hour. Nick joined in for Johnny Be Good, doing some
vocals & of course the Tambourine. Chris says he is working on a
web site and will update us.
Rory sported what looked like a new guitar (but then again my memory
isnt great) and of course did his trade mark Werewolves of London.
His other song was inspired while eating pie, aptly named The Pie
Song.
Jon played a new song he wrote from one of his poems called
Unfalling Tears which was great. He is a published poet and taking
advanced singing lessons and I know we look forward to more from
him.
Leigh now sporting brunette hair, no longer blonde, did her
cup of tea song. Amazing high pitched voice she can sing with, as
not many can achieve that.
The raffle commenced with lots of great prizes as usual and dont
forget any proceeds from raffle help to buy equipment for the Open
Mic Night Club, so lets all buy those raffle tickets! You never
know Terry might put in one of his unique sought after pieces of art!
Steven & Helen now known as Delta Elemental did some great effects
songs with his pedal and Helens unique voice, which can be decribed
as Celtic. There was some mention and laughter about talking funny
to a hamster...hmm ok moving on.
Nick did a slot with a nice vocals to a backing track of Long &
Winding Road. Well done Nick, hope to hear some more vocals.
Gareth even though suffering from Bird Flu, showed no signs of
letting us down, as he did a wonderful job as always.
Jay closed the evening and, as always, did an excellent job. Chris
joined in doing some vocals and accoustic playing. Nice way to
close the evening!
Hope everyone had a great evening and hope to see you all again!
