It's nearly 3 years since my Dad died and therefore nearly
3 years since picked up his guitar and taught myself to play.
Tonight I will fill an hour with the songs that I have learnt
to play during this period. Some of the songs belonged to my Dad
and others I have written myself The occasional 3 chord cover will
be also thrown in for good measure.
Please note:- Bastion 4 have cancelled tonight due to circumstances
beyond their control.

Thursday 6th October 2005 BLACK SHEEP 8.00 - 9.00 pm
We are a three piece rock band from the midlands, We have a range of
styles such as blues/indie and heavy rock ,we also do an acoustic set
with the use of a piano or keyboard.
Most of the songs are about living around a factory based small town
were people like us are expected to follow the crowd and blend in to
a life of factory work.
But lately we are getting more political with our lyrics and taking on
bigger issues such as the goverment,war,ect.........
hope to see you there and dont worry all the songs aint that serious.

Thursday 10th November 2005 GOFFMAN 8.00 - 9.00 pm
In late 2003, bass player Matt Snow, drummer Van Norris-Jones and
guitarist StewartJames found themselves with a heartful of songs,
a clutch of previous band experiences (soul, punk, dance, rock),
a cavernous rehearsal studio, and the inclination to do something
about it all. The treble-headed hydra that is GOFFMAN was thus formed
and has been astonishing audiences ever since with it’s blend of
spunky funky rock.
From a hastily-arranged spot at one of the Wedgewood Room’s famed
Binary Nation nights, Goffman has been earning its stripes, paying
its dues, and generally getting a damn sight better all the time by
playing a series of large and small venues around hometown
Portsmouth.
Now the band is ready to break out and push passionate punk-funk
on a wider scale, with continued live shows and a soon-to-be-released
debut mini-album.
If Brian Ferry played guitar, grew his hair and stripped Roxy Music
down to a three piece, the result is not far off Goffman.
Three-way vocals, funky groovalicious bass-lines, and just a smidgen
of soul all contribute to a ‘Young Americans’ era post-glam sound.
The Fly (August 2005)
I loved Goffman, they were amazing and funk to the max
stuff the

Thursday 1st December 2005 - FRIENDS OF BRUTAL ARCHITECTURE 8.00pm - 9.00pm
"Friends of Brutal Architecture are:
Andy Turton - Bass Guitar
Paul Smith - Drum Kit
Math Charlton - Guitar and vocals.
'Friends...' formed over summer 2004 and have returned to basics with a
rock-indie three piece after many disparate projects. Their new and
self-penned music shows off the dynamics of the band: softer passages
are gouged out by angular riffs and melodic choruses. Songs range from
challenging political motives to wry observations of the human condition."
