GOFFMAN opened the evening and are really very good all round. Honest songs played with considerable flair and not a hint of flash. Some reference points to Talking Heads much in evidence, I find I have to go and see them again. Next up was Chris - who recently performed the opening hour with two of his chums. On that occasion I thought he was the only one who had any idea what the songs were supposed to go like, so I was pleased to see that on his todd he is very good with a decent voice. Elsewhere we had Steve playing his full frontal frets and Tom Kelsal spewed forth a new song that might become a firm favourite after a few listens. (sorry didn’t catch the title)
The local nutter stood centre stage and promptly detuned the guitar and was ushered off - exit stage left pursued by a bear.
I missed all the acts after Nick unleashed his new chewn - ‘sometimes’ - that’s the trouble with early starts (they don’t mix with too much lager )but I am told that Sam played a blinder, which I am sorry to have missed.
