Posted by John I will settle the argument. You are right. The roof slope is 8in12, and the ridge is offset. It is basically centered over the second floor bedrooms, and the greatroom. It is 13' from the front wall (if the view is to the back) and 19' from the back edge of the veranda. We show this roof built with prefabricated roof trusses. I prefer this as it can be put together at the site quicker with less cutting and site calculations. The trusses accommodate 12" of batt fiberglass insulation. People are not using a spray on rigid styrofoam insulation, which can be sprayed directly to the underside of the plywood roof sheathing. This also acts as a air barrier too. If I were to go this route I would likely use stick framing (rafters and ceiling joists). This system does not require attic ventilation, as the attic is a heated space.
