I've seen plans where the measurements are taken from the outside of the studs, the inside , and even some that are taken from the center of the studs. Also,...I'm looking at the series I plan(3087 sq ft). The bedroom/den off the kitchen does NOT have a covered porch off the back, as in the 3206 sq ft plan, correct? Would it be very complicated to add a 2 car garage to that end of the house and have an entry door into the den? Thanks!  Post a Response

We round off our room sizes to the nearest inch to avoid fractions. You are right, this plan does not have a covered roof behind the bedroom, den. It would be quite simple to add a garage onto the end of this plan, keeping the roof at the lower slope to match the den roof. You might also want to consider adding an overhang over the the deck so that the same roof trusses (about 24' deep) could just continue over this end. We are very close to having our new I series garage plans ready, and hope to have them onto the website next week. Thanks, John  Post a Response
