My name is John Robinson and I am President of Robinson Residential Design Inc., though most of you know us as www.robinsonplans.com.
For the last several years I have been heavily involved with the custom design aspects of this company. I have now returned to being involved with our web based plan sales, and am really enjoying it. If you have any questions regarding any of our plans, or questions as to what can be customized, please drop us a line thru our "contact us" page link.
Unfortunately it has come to our attention that many of your emails have not been acknowledged. This situation has been corrected and we sincerely apologize for this oversight.
In days we will be launching our new K series plans which are based on our "Green by the Pound" 3 day build project. These plans are available in two sizes, and are specifically designed for a sloping lot.
To those of you who visit our website, converse on our message board and share your stories and photos, we thank you for your input and enthusiam.
Have a great year,
John

we are building the IGS 4020 and want to match the color of the shakes you have in your rendering. Could you tell us what the exact stain color is? And would you think round columns would look good? thanks...we are really excited just at the bids stage for building. we plan to make the house green using interlocking concrete block and geothermal.

Hi Ann:
When we commission these renderings we don't have a stain color, we just keep adjusting the color of the hatch pattern until we think we have it right. I suggest that you get a local paint store to lend you some sample rings of actual stained wood and take them to the site and test them up against the wall.
Round colums could look very good. They just need to have a slight taper, and should be a 14"-16" diameter (at the bottom) if there is just one, and paired ones could be 12". If you are using round ones, I prefer having them full length and eliminating the tapered stone bases. The columns should be the same color as your window trim.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this.
