We are building a modified version of the F design. If you are interested, we are posting pictures as we go along at http://www.flickr.com/photos/rhh/ under PEI New Summer Home.

Hi Victoria, I have tried to email you but in case that doesn't work your new cottage is beautiful. We are in the process of buying land on PEI and I was wondering if you would recommend your builder. Thanks Heather

Dear Victoria, Your new home is gorgeous! I love all the details and the cottage look. My husband and I are looking at the plans trying to decide what would work best for our family. If you don't mind me asking what "F" plan did you start with and what chages did you make? Thanks again for sharing, again it is beautiful and I wish you many happy memories in your new home.

Hi Liesl,
Thanks for your note. We started with the F1715. We increased the footprint of the house by 3 feet on all sides (I think it was 3 but I'm not sure, you can ask Mike). The kitchen was changed so we could have a big island in the middle. We added a third bedroom upstairs above the master bedroom (basically using attic space). There's a small two piece bathroom upstairs as well. The stairs were changed to a U shape to give us more space in the living room. We put the furnace and mechanical downstairs to give us a bigger laundry/utility and added a pantry in front of the kitchen. The biggest change involved extending the upstairs loft all the way across to the front of the house so we now have a very large second floor but no cathedral ceilings in the living room (which we are very happy with). We made some cosmetic/cabinetry changes as well: built in bookshelves/fireplace in living room and a transom separating the living room and dining room. Lots of changes to windows and doors too.
Now that I read it, it sounds like a lot but the Robinson guys were great and very open to the changes we wanted. E-mail me if you want to see more recent pictures. Best of luck with your project. Victoria

Dear Victoria, Thank you so much for the reply. My husband and I were wondering the same thing with the attic spaces - converting them into livable space and extending the loft - we would rather have more space than a cathedral ceiling. We would love to see more pictures and if it is okay with you and Rob Young, would it be possible to see the floorplans? Thanks again we love your home with all it's trimwork as well as the people we have met here and the staff - everyone is so helpful which is a big difference from other sites we have been looking at. We look forward to possibly seeing the plans as well as the new photos. Thanks Again! -Liesl Schick

Dear Victoria, Is your pantry located behind the blackboard? When I looked at the pictures it almost looks like the blackboard/ plate rack built in is a door as well. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home. -Liesl

Hi Victoria, We were wondering if it was possible to view pictures of your Modified F Robinson home. We tried the flickr address but have been unable to access the pictures. We are trying to decide which house to build. Thank you. Ken
