Posted by John Robinson It have taken a look at what we could do to the C-1224 to get your kitchen to work best for you. With plans that don't have basements, the space under the staircase is where we show the microwave and other storage being built-in on the kitchen side. With plans with basement, the water heater can go in the basement. You might also want to investigate tankless water heaters which can fit under a vanity on on a shelf in the pantry cabinets. What I am proposing is putting a half bath where the bathtub is currently shown. (a toilet and a vanity facing towards each other). You can put a washer and dry side by side on the outside wall, in a little hallway that leads to the bathroom. Opposite this backing the kitchen you can have a small closet with the water heater in it, and a pantry facing into the kitchen. I am wondering if the dishwasher can go in the island. If the water heater could be situated elsewhere, the fridge could move over to the wall beside the new pantry, which would free up more space on the wall with the window in the kitchen. This would allow room for more cabinets, more space around the sink, and the dishwasher to be located beside the sink. I will send you a copy of what I am proposing to make it easier for you to see. Thanks, John
