Kate, we did what Rob suggested, we extended the room over the great room eliminating the vaulted ceiling. Over the mstr bdrm we created a bath equal to the size the guest bath downstairs and created a closet equal to that size over the kitchen area. We sacrificed the vaulted ceiling but we eliminated the wasted energy those consume as well as increased the upstairs. We also split the ceiling lights upstairs on to two switches so that in the future this 22x30 room can be made into two bedrooms by adding a closet wall between them. We're very happy with this addition. Only 3 weeks and we're in!!!
