Hi, we just built a GC548 in Nova Scotia and ran into the same questions. We decided to go with a frost wall(4ft crawl space), the cost was about the same as an engineered slab. The crawl space allows us to put in plumbing, hot water heater, air exchanger etc. We have electric baseboard heaters and an air tight wood stove, I doubt that we will be cold! Although we are not completely finished, we are certainly enjoying our little cottage. Cheers
