I extended loft to just over the kitchen island and it looks good. Added stairs and back door by eliminating linen closet. Stairs go up and then turn for additional 4 steps to loft. Added small utility closet with custom shelving under stairs in hall just to side of back door and closet under stairs in smaller bedroom. Felt needed back door as fire escape option. Bathroom space was not compromised. First set of stairs are somewhat steeper than the norm but second stairs are normal.
In loft added 8'X 6'area that includes 1/2 bath and small closet at end of bath. This presents option to use as additional bedroom. All the changes have worked out very nicely.
The Robinson plan has worked out very well. When built it appears as advertised. A warm and inviting home.
