Posted by B We have been looking at the F and G series plans for building a lake home. We are trying to keep the square footage down while still providing adequate sleeping space for our three adult children and their families. This will be a year-round home so having adequate space for holiday visits is important. Here is the question: So the question is, is it possible to create bedrooms, a bathroom, and a family room type space on the 2nd floor with possibly a balcony? Thanks, B

Hi,
We are not interested in having a loft so would it be possible (and feasible) to modify one of the F series plans to be a full second floor with bedrooms and a bathroom. Along with this revamped space we would like to maintain a shared space similar to the G series plan with either windows or a deck in place of the window above the living room. I think I read in one of the message posts that there is room for an additional bedroom above the master bedroom. It's possible that in order to make this change, the stairway would need to be reversed which would be okay.
