I have several questions regarding the new C1844 plan, hopefully my proposed changes are not too radical. I understand the new C1844 plan is 2 ft deeper than the old C1661 to accomodate a longer staircase.
1. Is is possible to eliminate the two bedrooms above the great room and create an "open-to-below" space with a vaulted ceiling?
2. If the above change is possible I'd like to go with the basement option and convert the mech/laundry room behind the kitchen to a small bedroom. By keeping the old C1661 kitchen dimensions the new bedroom could be expanded to include a closet and larger bathroom next door.
3. Upstairs there will only be a need for one bathroom so I'd like to increase the bedroom closet width to the full width of the bedroom.
