Posted by Mark Dupuis If this is possible, can you ball park the hours to make the change. Also, I think the lay of our land will force us to move the garage door to the garage wall perpendicular to the front door, more of a courtyard. We would just go with one garage door, proably a 10 foot door and put two windows on the wall where the garage doors are on the original plan. Look forward to your response, we think we have dream home nailed if this change is possible. Thanks.

Hi, I wrote earlier in the summer about modifying the loft of the FG 2072 model. We have been thinking a lot about this plan but struggling a bit with the loft, until it just occurred to us. Would it be possible to move the loft from the front of the house to the back? The stairs would still be located in the same place, but reversed in that as you entered the front door the stairs to go up to the loft would be on your immediate left. As with your design, the loft would have to extend beyond the back wall of the first floor to bring the elevation of the loft window down to something reasonable. Also, maybe a complication, I did not want to close in the staircase which means there could be no support from the first floor where the stairs hit the loft. This would open up the family room space better. I am flexible as to what size the loft is.
