The free end of it is if you have a song you own the rights to, as most musicians do, then you really only need to set up your business (see a professional for this) and find a way to distribute your music. There are hundreds of thousands of bedroom labels out there that are run like this.
Take your music to a digital distributor like Beatport or use an aggrigator and they will get your music into a digital platform where people can buy your music. Now you are a label.
Do yourself a favor and invest $30 on a book called "Everything you wanted to know about the music business but were afraid to ask" by Donald Passman. It will help you way beyond your $30 investment.
