...Actually, Target did use to carry singles. The last time I saw some singles at a Target store was around the year 2000. They had a "singles" section in there music area.
When I was younger, I also remembered K-Mart carrying singles, as well. I first saw my first cardboard sleeve in their music section, and didn't know why it was so thin. Now I know, it was a single.
