I looked up our discussion of The Prague Cemetery in October 2012. I would have thought that you would have read that with us, Joffre, but I see that you did not. In that novel, I had some reservations about Eco constructing dark comedy out of anti-semitism and the roots of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. I could not shake that this would lead to the Holocaust in a few decades. Anyway, that was an Eco novel that I rather enjoyed. I recall that I loved The Name of the Rose. I think that I found much to like in Foucault's Pendulum, but I read it about 25 years ago. It did not make that much impression, although I recall having an overall positive feeling. Maybe I had a higher tolerance for arcane conspiracy theories in those happier, simpler times.
As I read through the discussion of TPC, I found that I asked if anyone else had read more Eco and made the retrospectively amusing comment, "Baudolino sounds interesting." LOL.
