Yeah, I looked up the map when I read your first post to see if it was the one I'd seen before.
This map is curious.
I'm surprised that Greater Appalachia takes up most of Texas. Some of the other such maps, which may not be based on any research at all, make a country of Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico, which seems more natural.
I'm surprised that Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan are part of Yankeedom rather than the Midlands and that the Midlands surround that part of Yankeedom. Just a suggestion to the Midlands: take that shit over; you've got them surrounded for god's sake.
I'm also surprised that so much of California goes to the Far West rather than the Left Coast.
Yankeedom is a stupid sounding name. Some people here call the U.S. Yanquilandia. I nearly always do myself. Y sounds like sh in Argentine Spanish.
I might read this book. Probably easier to follow in my state of distraction than Look Homeward Angel.
