I started Salaambo today, read two chapters. I must say I am not enjoying it so far.
One curious thing:
their torn coats of mail beat against their sword-hilts, and through the holes in the bronze could be seen their naked members, as fearful as weapons of war.
Okay, I know a 'member' can be an arm or a leg, but let's face it; it's not. If arms or legs were meant, the world limbs should have been used. Why is Flaubert telling me this?
