Ah, I didn't remember that you read Tomcat Murr. That was my first year here. It was a busy year.
I did remember that you'd read A Suitable Boy.
I've never felt all that drawn to Dos Passos either. Steven has said, if I remember rightly, that he enjoyed it a lot. If I get round to it at all, I'll read the first volume and see if I want to continue. I'd have done that with the Cornish Trilogy but I had to buy it all in one volume.
And yes, The Hunting of the Snark is just a long poem by Lewis Carrol. I already knew of it but it was often quoted and talked about in The Lyre of Orpheus. It seems to be about fifty pages long.
