: narrator's version, then what has happened defies
: logic and disrupts the normal way of things (or upsets
: the mind of the characters or the readers). But if the
: reader chooses to consider that there was alcohol and
: fear and nighttime (darkness) were involved and the
: narrator may have mistaken his apartment and
: inadvertantly gave the impression of following the guy
: in the front, then it is merely in the category of
: I hope I have made the French definitions clearer and
: not more confusing.
