I think they're equivalent. There's a Wikipedia article titled Argentine people. The first sentence says, "Argentines (argentinos in Spanish), also called Argentinians, are the citizens of Argentina, or their descendants abroad." I prefer Argentines, don't like the sound of Argentinians. I notice this thing underlines Argentines as if it were wrong. Perhaps strictly speaking, Argentine (it doesn't get underlined if I leave off the s) is an adjective and Argentinian a noun.
