I don't make New Year's resolutions. Both in my profession and in my life, I find that no one can keep them.
Unless of course if they really and truly want to do what they have resolved to do, in which case they don't need a resolution! :^)
But anyway,
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

: I will probably ring in the new year sound asleep as
: usual. We've been babysitting grandkids all week while
: they're home from school and are exhausted from
: breaking up fights, cooking, doing laundry, picking up
: messes, etc.
:
: Aside from the usual weight and exercise resolutions,
: I've resolved for 2012 to read more books than I buy
: each month and to reduce the size of my collection by
: the end of the year. In 2011 I read 124 physical books
: (plus 12 e-books), sold several bags of books, and my
: shelves are more crowded than ever, so there's no
: telling how many I bought or acquired as gifts or
: review copies. This year I plan to track it and not
: allow myself to set foot in a bookstore if my numbers
: aren't favorable.
:
: Happy 2012 everyone!
