Dear Friends,
My home being a magnet for junk, I might not have minded having one or two of these dolls. Especially if it is an author I really really admire, like Steinbeck. But in the link Steven sent, the dolls are holding their books and I think that is cheesy (or cheesier than just the likeness of the author), I think the beholder should guess who the doll belongs to and if they cannot guess then it makes for some conversation. but the announce the author with their own book in their hand, no
In the second link Joffre sent, I liked the dolls better, they are cute.
By the way, have I ever mentioned to you that I collect tiny tiny books? I have the Lilliput dictionaries (most of them although i know I am lacking the Greek and Danish ones), I have Kafka's metamorphosis in its entirety in a tiny little book, I have abridged versions of some French classics... Here are some photos. Please, if you come across any tiny books, please please buy them for me.
