Somewhat along these lines, I'm currently reading Wagner's Ring of the Nibelung. There are Rhine maidens, though only briefly. I'm enjoying it quite a lot. I think there should be a big film cycle of this as with Lord of the Rings. They should use Wagner's music but just speak the lines in English. Seems to me it should attract all the audience Lord of the Rings did. Rhine maidens, dwarfs, gods, giants, warriors, a dragon. I've read Lord of the Rings, but I've never watched the films. I think Ring of the Nibelung would make a fantastic film.
