A lot of people i was talking to said that they really enjoyed this book. For my english class in college we had to read and analyze Life of Pi ( I go to a french college so it was more or less hard for us ) and I was probably one of the only ones in the class who did not enjoy the book. I didn't have any problem understanding this book or the symbols or religion and faith but i just didn't enjoy myself. The story got interesting at the end when Pi is saved and discussing with the two japonese what really happened after the ship sank but those are only the last few pages. The first two parts of the book I found long although i think every single page was necessairy to prepare the reader to understand the symbolism of the story. It was well written, I think Yann Martel did a great job there but i just didn't enjoy the story, like i mentionned a few times and I might just be on the slow side but it took me forever to understand who Richard Parker was !
