Message: Hello Sylvia,
It was recommended by my brother-in law that I contact you. My name is Tony Piazza and I am a new mystery author from California, USA. I have a published mystery that has been doing well in sales both online and at some independent bookstores. It is called “Anything Short of Murder. I have just done a successful signing in Santa Maria, and have one scheduled for May 22nd at “Chaucer’s” in Santa Barbara. I am sending you these links (cut & paste) to some of the publicity I have so far received, as well as the Press Release from my publisher. I was told by my brother-in law that you have a unique store in Paris, and he was very impressed in how you treated new authors. If you carried just a couple copies of my book I would be honored.
Sincerely,
Tony Piazza

PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2011 – New Fiction Release Evokes Spirit, Moxie of 1940’s Noir Mystery Novel
Anything Short of Murder
is released by Tony Piazza
When private detective Tom Logan sat down to enjoy a sandwich at a Hollywood deli, he had no inkling that he would soon find himself embroiled in a hair-raising adventure that could possibly take his life. A “slinky blonde” straight out of a pulp detective novel kicks off the story, offering Logan $50 in exchange for discovering the identity of the person leaving frightening threats against her life. The blonde in question is the beautiful Madeline Hyland, a debutante dabbling in film, and Logan is thrown headlong into the sordid world of the second-rate movie studio, where he narrowly avoids being shot and killed upon his first visit to the set of the popular “Keys to Adventure”.
The death of an extra on the set increases Logan’s resolve to find the mysterious person responsible and he enlists the help of an officer with the LAPD, “Red” Clancy. With Clancy’s aid, Logan methodically tracks the killer and maintains the safety of his charge. Will Logan end up falling for the beautiful Mattie Hyland? Or will he succumb to the charms of the lovely Rita, a helpful studio employee? Will Logan learn the identity of the mysterious man in the red scarf who haunts the scene of every crime? And can Logan keep himself and Mattie alive?
Anything Short of Murder is a charming page-turner, full of colorful characters and set in 1930’s Hollywood, a fascinating period in the famous city’s history. Author Tony Piazza’s attention to detail is impeccable, and this whodunit will keep the reader guessing to the very end. Piazza spent some time working for motion pictures and television in the 1970’s as an actor, extra, and stand-in. He now resides in the California Central Coast with his wife and works as an Assistant QA Manager for a food safety laboratory. This is his first novel.
