: Who was the author of that science fiction story? I
: may have read it too.
Oh I wish I knew. I remember, in great detail, all the stories we read, both in English and in Turkish literature classes. but I have started taking note of authors (of short stories) much later. These were stories in text books so i must have thought that they were specifically written for students/courses.
For instance, another story we read, as I found out decades later, belonged to Edgar Allan Poe. At the time, even though I was very interested in the story, I had thought it was a no-name brand story
I understand somethings about myself so much better now. At the time I didn't know that I was one of the few people amongst my classmates who liked those classes. The teacher would read out loud, paragraph by paragraph, identifying new words and expressions we didn't know.
Btw, did I tell you guys (y'all) that I am taking French classes at the University of Ottawa? Today I had a midterm (and a flat tire, not in that order.)
:
: You'll be delighted, then, to know that William H.
: Gass has written a novel titled The Tunnel , and
: you can join me in reading it after we finish
: Omensetter's Luck next month.
Yes, let's read it, let's read all the Tunnels.
